Building towards Fjellheisen 2.0
As we look ahead to an exciting winter at Fjellheisen, we’re also in the midst of some important upgrades to our facilities. While construction is ongoing, a few temporary changes will affect access, parking, and mobility at the lower and upper station.
We want to make your visit as smooth as possible, so please take a moment to review the latest practical information below. Your safety and comfort are our top priorities, and we appreciate your patience and understanding during this transition period.
During the construction period, we are unfortunately unable to accommodate wheelchair users or visitors with walkers (rolators). We regret this temporary limitation and appreciate your understanding.

New Temporary Fjellstua Café
We’re thrilled about the ongoing construction of Fjellheisen 2.0! Soon, we’ll be moving from the old "Fjellstua" to our newly built temporary café, conveniently located right next door. We warmly invite guests to stop by for a drink and pastry while taking in the breathtaking views.
Parking
We would like to remind our guests that the parking of private cars is currently not possible at the lower station. Designated parking for private cars and busses is available for free approximately five minutes’ walk from the entrance.
Please follow the signs to the correct location.

How to get there without a car?
By Shuttle Bus: Our favourite option is for you to take the Fjellheisen Shuttle Bus which departs daily from Tourist Shop Tromsø Havn from 10:00 – 17:00. The Shuttle Bus will be in operation starting October until end of March.
On Foot: Walking from Tromsø city center to the lower Cable Car station in Tromsdalen takes approximately 45 minutes. You can cross the bridge Tromsøbrua by foot - the walkway is on the South side - towards the Arctic Cathedral. Coming down from the bridge, you should turn to the right and use the pathway underneath for a safer crossing and more comfortable path. From the Arctic Cathedral, follow Turistveien and turn left onto Anton Jakobsens vei until reaching the Fjellheisen lower station located on the left side of the road.
By taxi: Taking a taxi from the city center to the Parking takes approximately 10 minutes.
Buses: Buses will only be allowed brief pick-up and drop-off stops. They will no longer be permitted to park or wait at the lower station parking area.
